Food and Nutrition

Each day our cook from scratch prepares a nutritious balanced meal. Our menus vary over a 3 week cycle. Our menus are displayed for you to see and prior to your child starting with us we will ensure that all dietary requirements are discussed and catered for. Most of our recipes can be adapted to suit dairy free, vegetarian, culture or gluten / wheat free diets.

Keeping your child healthy and ensuring they get good nutrition whilst at nursery are two key roles we take very seriously at Smartys.
Mealtimes are happy sociable occasions where children have the opportunity to try a range of foods. Children in all rooms are encouraged to sit together and show excellent table manners.

Breakfast is served from 7:30, Lunch is served from 11:30 and tea is served from 3:30 onwards (the times vary in each building depending on their individual routines).

We offer snacks during the day consisting of fruit pots and salad sticks.
Drinks are provided throughout the day consisting of milk and water. Water is freely available all day for all of the children.

Our children are also encouraged to make the most of the outdoors in our wonderful outdoor areas complete with age and stage appropriate equipment for them to balance, climb and bikes to ride on. At Smartys we believe that fresh air and physical exercise are essential for good health. Our children spend as much time outside as they can.
