Gemma Turner

Gemma TurnerNVQ Level 3 and First Class Honours Degree in Adult Nursing (RGN)

Hi my name is Gemma and I am the manager of the Little Stars Nursery. I am also a fully qualified nurse.
I have 12 years experience of working with children including taking time out to achieve my degree and being a mum to my young daughter.
I have achieved my NVQ level 2 and 3 in child care as well as achieving a first class honours degree in adult nursing (RGN), I have paediatric first aid, food hygiene, Safeguarding level 1, EYFS observation and assessment, EYFS training course and moving and handling.

I am currently sharing my time being a manager at our existing baby building and being a nurse working within the hospital. Once our new nursery opens I will be managing this full time.

I have always loved and enjoyed caring for children. I joined Smartys when I was 17 to pursue a career in childcare and to help support the family business. I enjoy playing and interacting with the children in particular babies along with building up trusting relationships with parents giving them the reassurance that their babies are nurtured and loved within the setting. I enjoy implementing new ideas into the setting in particular arts, crafts and messy play.

I feel that since becoming a new mum I am able to offer and support all of our new parents as they make the transition of going back to work. I absolutely love being a mum and enjoy interacting and sharing the precious moments as I watch the children grow and develop.
