Our Babies Bungalow Team
In this building the staff are selected not just for their experience and qualifications but for their loving and caring nature to look after our babies. The babies are also of the age where the most changes occur in their development in such a short space of time.
The staff are aware of each individual, their stage of development and what each baby needs next to thrive. Our staff are really focused on each of the babies individual routines.

Early Years Teacher Status and Qualified Primary Teacher
My name is Carina and I have worked with children for the past 17 years after I completed my training as a nursery nurse. During this time I have worked in various different settings and in that time have completed a range of courses, gaining Early Years Teacher Status in 2014 and becoming a qualified primary teacher in 2018. As well as this I hold paediatric first aid and safeguarding qualifications. I am a member of Staffordshire Early Years Professional Network which means I go to regular training sessions which keeps my knowledge up to date and inspires my own practice.
I am extremely passionate about Early Years care and education and I find my job extremely rewarding. I believe that every child should have the best start in their early childhood experiences and education and feel that I play a small part in the beginning of their educational journey, I like to make this a fun and enjoyable experience so that they can go on to reach their full potential. I love teaching and sharing knowledge and I am lucky enough that at Smartys I have the opportunity to do this with the children and with the staff teams I work with.
When I am not working I love spending time with family and friends. My hobbies include walking and reading which I have lots of opportunity to do when I go camping with my husband in our new trailer tent.
