Our Eden Court Pre-School Team

All staff in the pre-school have been carefully selected for important personal qualities in addition to their qualifications and experience. They are all warm, caring people who are genuinely friendly and show patience and understanding towards children.

We work in partnership with parents and staff are always available to discuss your child´s day and deal with any queries you may have. The staff work hard to allow them the independence they strive for but within a safe environment.

Hi my name is Sue and I am the education co-ordinator of both of our Pre-School nurseries (Eden court and Pirehill). I have completed the Early years teacher status so am a qualified teacher delivering the education to our young children’s lives.

I have over 12 years of experience of working with children along with being a mum to two older boys.

I have achieved paediatric first aid, food hygiene, Safeguarding level 1 and Early years foundation stage review for leaders and managers working in the private, voluntary and independent sector.

I am responsible for the day to day education at both of our pre-schools. I ensure that all of the children receive an educated day in a caring and fun way. I fully support and guide all of the staff involved in the pre-school’s overseeing the delivery of the education providing each pre-school with the resources and activities they need each week. I aim to give the children the best possible start in life. I also ensure all development records and observations are carried out.

Working with children is so rewarding because I get to watch them learn and develop. I can support their learning and development so that every child can reach their full potential. I feel a responsibility to give each child the best care, education and support possible so that they can become successful adults.

I am an organised person and enjoy studying for my degree and researching for all new ideas, I like to read and bake with the children. I enjoy coming to work and working within a pre-school setting.

Hi my name is Tim and I am the manager of our Pre-School at Eden court nursery. I am also a nursery driver qualified to drive our nursery vehicles.

I have over 13 years service with Smartys and experience of working with children.

I have achieved paediatric first aid, food hygiene, Safeguarding level 1 and level 2, ENCO level 1 and 2, effective team meetings, health and safety unit 1 and 2, autism awareness, moving and handling, EYFS observation and assessment, I am responsible for the day to day running of the pre-school, building good relationships with all prospective and current parents, along with all children and staff. I am on hand to support all staff in their roles. With the support of our education co-ordinator I help to oversee the delivery of the education providing our children with the best possible start in life. I am a key person ensuring all development records and observations are carried out.

Working with children is a very rewarding to see the achievements of the individuals in our care grow and develop over a period of time. I enjoy boosting their confidence and self esteem as well as enhancing their own individual personalities and giving them the social skills that they will need to tackle situations and opportunities later on in the future.

I am a very sporty person offering physical education to all of the children I look after along with running the holiday club during the school holidays including arranging trips and organising activities.

I always try to present myself in a professional way being friendly and welcoming to all children, staff and parents, a dedicated and committed member of the Smartys team.

Hi my name is Steph and I am the deputy manager of the Pre-School Nursery.

I have 15 years experience of working with children including being a mum to my daughter.

I have achieved paediatric first aid, food hygiene, Safeguarding level 1 and level 2, EYFS observation and assessment, autism awareness, moving and handling, I am responsible for supporting the manager with the day to day running of the pre-school nursery, looking after parents, children and staff within the building, deploying staff, organising activities, assisting with planning and development records along with the daily paperwork of the nursery.

I love to work with children as this has always been a passion of mine, I enjoy being a part of their young lives, making a difference to them and their parents. I enjoy watching them develop in all areas of learning and most important making sure they are happy, loved and safe.

I am committed to my career along with being a very caring, kind and focused member of the team. I also like to be organised and am very clean and tidy whilst in my job.

Angela Rawlinson

Hi my name is Ange and I am a nursery nurse and I float around all of our settings, however, I work primarily iwthin our Eden Court Pre-School Nursery.

I have 20 years experience of working with children including play groups and nursery settings before joining Smartys in 2013.

I have achieved EYFS training, A1 assesor award, play and the developing child.

I am responsible for supporting the room supervisor within the day to day running of the teeny room, ensuring the room runs smoothly along with ensuring the children, staff and parents welfare and health are met at all times.

I work with children because I enjoy every day being different, they make me smile and laugh at their little ways. As a mum of one and aunty I am a very caring person, I enjoy playing with the children and being spontaneous with activities

Hi my name is Sam and I am a deputy manager at our Eden Court Pre-School Nursery.

I have over 5 years experience of working with children at Smartys and I have achieved paediatric first aid, food hygiene, Safeguarding level 1, EYFS training, autism awareness and introduction to music with babies and young children.

I am responsible for supporting with the day to day running of the upstairs rooms, ensuring everyone receives a warm and welcoming environment, guiding staff in their roles, ensuring all children’s needs are met along with completing planning and development records for children, building good relationships with parents, children and staff.

I love looking after children and as an aunty to 5 young children I am a very caring individual who finds it very rewarding helping children to develop and grow. I am a very artistic person who enjoys being creative, I am a motivated member of staff who works well in a team, very organised and a positive person.

I always try to present myself in a professional way, and any spare time I have I enjoy spending it with my nieces and nephews. I really enjoy my job.

I would like to introduce myself as the Manager of Baby Nursery, my name is Rachel, for those of you who do not know me I am also the General Manager for the company along with being the Baby Nursery manager, I have worked for Smartys for 18 years joining the company when I left school at 16. I am a fully qualified nursery nurse and have completed other numerous courses to enhance my knowledge and practice. I look forward to making your time in the playhouse a very happy occasion.

I am responsible for the day to day running of Smartys supporting and working alongside the owner, I am responsible for guiding staff in their roles, building good relationships with all prospective (by showing them around the nurseries) and current parents (open days, parents evenings), along with all children and staff. I help to look after all of the admin at head office for the company along with playing an active part in the daily running of the toddler building completing the daily paperwork for this building. I am on hand to support the managers of our other settings and support all staff in their roles. I am the settings SENCO working with and supporting the children and parents in the toddlers playhouse. I always strive to do my very best and enjoy all aspects of my job.

Working with children has always been a passion of mine, I knew this is what I wanted to do from a very young age. I strive to be a very happy, positive and sociable person. It is my aim to offer all of the children in my care a happy, safe and stimulating environment. I thrive on watching the children grow through our settings and feel very honoured to have been a part of their young lives. I am also a very organised, tidy and artistic person offering the children a wide variety of sensory and creative activities. I also enjoy being an Aunty to my young niece.

I always try to present myself in a professional way offering a friendly and welcoming environment to all of my staff and parents, offering the enthusiasm and motivation to my team. I thoroughly enjoy my job and am a very dedicated and committed member of the team, I cannot imagine working anywhere other than Smartys.
