Welcome to Smartys Little Willows, our beautifully designed Early Years classroom environment located within Pirehill First School.

Little Willows provides an exceptional foundation for pre-school children as they prepare for their transition into Reception.

    OFSTED Report

    Each area of learning has been carefully structured to support children’s focus, encouraging purposeful play and development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

    We follow parent’s wishes as to where and when the babies sleep. We have a variety of cots, bouncers and sleep mats. We do not have set times for sleeping. Babies sleep as needed but also in line with their parents wishes.

    Our babies nappies are changed regularly throughout the day or whenever needed. The carers check the babies’ nappies regularly. Each child has their own box where we store your child’s own nappies, wipes and creams (we do ask for parents to provide these).

    Our babies are encouraged to explore and become mobile as they begin to cruise, crawl and walk around the rooms.

    Attendance at Little Willows does not mean your child must transition into Pirehill First School. We proudly support children moving on to all primary schools within the local area and beyond, ensuring personalised, well-supported transitions wherever their journey takes them.

    We are also proud to have offered our own private day nursery provision within the school grounds for over 15 years, enriching our longstanding partnership with the school community and providing families with continuity, expertise, and exceptional care.
